Pastor
The Rev. J. Logan Shelton began serving the congregation of Providence Presbyterian Church Auburn-Opelika in June 2021 as the the then–preaching station’s stated supply. The General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) raised the church plant to a fully sanctioned church in May 2023, and in September 2023, the congregation unanimously called Mr. Shelton as their pastor with the Presbytery of the United States sustaining the call. In October 2023, the Presbytery ordained and inducted him as the minister of the church.

The Rev. Shelton is a native of Jacksonville, Alabama, and is a graduate of Auburn University and Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He also completed a course of training through the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) Seminary. He and his wife Madeline live in Opelika and are the parents of four children.

The Rev. Shelton serves as moderator of our Session, which is made up of the pastor and elders, and our Deacons’ Court, which is made up of the pastor, elders, and deacon.
